নারী ও দাস-দাসী সম্পর্কে বাইবেলে যা আছে আপনি জানলে অবাক হবেন
এই লেখাটিতে আপনাদের জন্য বাইবেলের বাস্তবতাকে তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছে মাত্র। মিশন্যারিদের মতো প্রতারণা ও ছল-চাতুরির আশ্রয় নিয়ে বাইবেলকে হেয় করার কোনো ইচ্ছা বা উদ্দেশ্য নাই। ইসলামে নারীদের মর্যাদা ও অধিকার নিয়ে মূলত দুটি ধর্মের ক্ষুদ্র কিছু গ্রুপ থেকে অপপ্রচার চালানো হয়। তাদের মধ্যে একটি হচ্ছে খ্রীষ্টান মিশন্যারি গ্রুপ, যারা বিভিন্ন প্রতারণা ও কলাকৌশলের আশ্রয় নিয়ে গরীব ও অজ্ঞ লোকজনকে ধর্মান্তরিত করার জন্য সদা-সর্বদা তৎপর থাকে। এরা ইসলামের অতি তুচ্ছ কিছু বিষয়, যেগুলোকে যুক্তি দিয়ে সহজেই ব্যাখ্যা করা সম্ভব, সেগুলোকে রঙ-চং দিয়ে হাইলাইট করে তার সাথে মুসলিম পরিবারে সংঘটিত বিচ্ছিন্ন কিছু ঘটনাকে যোগ করে ইসলামের নামে বারংবার প্রচার করে। হাতিকে ছেড়ে লেজের কিছু চুল নিয়ে এমনভাবে অপপ্রচার চালানো হয়েছে যে, অনেকেই তাদের অপপ্রচারের দ্বারা বিভ্রান্ত হয়েছেন। কেননা অধিকাংশ মানুষ হলিউড মুভি আর পশ্চিমা বিশ্বের নারীদেরকে দেখে বাইবেলকে বিচার করে! কিন্তু বাস্তবতা যে ঠিক তার বিপরীত, সেটা বাইবেল না পড়লে কারো পক্ষেই অনুমান করা সম্ভব নয়।
যদিও স্বল্প পরিসরে বাইবেল থেকে পুরোপুরি উদ্ধৃতি দেওয়া সম্ভব নয় তথাপি এই লেখাতে নারী ও দাস-দাসীদের উপর বাইবেল থেকে কিছু ভার্স উপস্থাপন করা হচ্ছে। বিষয়গুলোকে যুক্তি দিয়ে ডিফেন্ড করা সম্ভব কি-না সেটাও দেখতে হবে। লেখাটি মনোযোগ দিয়ে পড়ে ভেবে দেখুন, এই আধুনিক যুগে বাইবেল অনুসরণ করা আদৌ সম্ভব কি-না। আর এ কারণেই তারা বাইবেলে বিশ্বাসী হয়েও ‘সেক্যুলার’ সেজে ইসলামকে আক্রমণ করে। একটি গ্রন্থকে ‘গডের অভ্রান্ত বাণী’ হিসেবে বিশ্বাস করি কিন্তু অনুসরণ করতে লজ্জা লাগে – এ আবার কেমন গড! তারা নিজেরাই প্রমাণ করেছে যে, বাইবেল আসলে গডের বাণী নয়। কিন্তু অন্য কেউ বলতে গেলেই দোষ!
তারা একদিকে বাইবেলে বিশ্বাস করে, বাইবেলকে ‘গডের অভ্রান্ত বাণী’ বলে দাবি করে, বাইবেলের কিছু নির্বাচিত ভার্স ব্যবহার করে মানুষকে ধর্মান্তরিত করে, অন্যদিকে আবার মুসলিমদেরকে 'মৌলবাদী' ও 'পশ্চাৎপদ' বলে! একটি গ্রন্থ হয় গডের বাণী, না হয় গডের বাণী নয়। গডের বাণী হলে সেভাবেই বিশ্বাস ও অনুসরণ করা উচিত। অন্যথায় সত্যকে স্বীকার করা উচিত। কিন্তু একই গ্রন্থকে সকালবেলা ‘গডের অভ্রান্ত বাণী’ বলে দাবি করা হবে কিন্তু বিকালবেলা অন্যদের সাথে বিতর্কে ‘সেক্যুলার’ সেজে তাদের ধর্মকে আক্রমণ করা হবে – এ আবার কেমন ভণ্ডামী! অন্যান্য ধর্মাবলম্বীরা এই ভণ্ডামীটাই করছে। তারা কেউ ‘সেক্যুলার’, কেউ ‘নাস্তিক’, কেউবা আবার ‘নিধর্মী’ সেজে ইসলামকে আক্রমণ করছে এবং সেই সাথে মুসলিমদেরকেই উল্টোদিকে 'মৌলবাদী', 'পশ্চাৎপদ', 'অমানবিক' ইত্যাদি আখ্যা দিয়ে হেয় করা হচ্ছে। এর চেয়ে বড় কৌতুক আর কী হতে পারে! যাহোক, বাইবেলে নারী ও দাস-দাসীদের অবস্থানটা ভালো করে একবার দেখে নিন।
১. প্রথমে পুরুষকে সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে, তারপর নারীকে।
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. (1 Timothy 2:13)
২. পুরুষকে নারীর জন্য সৃষ্টি করা হয়নি, কিন্তু নারীকে পুরুষের জন্য সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে।
For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. (1 Corinthians 11:8-9)
৩. নারীকে পুরুষের পাঁজরের হাড় থেকে সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে।
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. (Genesis 2:22)
৪. স্ত্রীরা তাদের স্বামীদের প্রতি আত্মসমর্পণ করবে, যেমন গডের প্রতি তারা আত্মসমর্পণ করে। তার মানে স্ত্রীর কাছে স্বামী হচ্ছে গডের সমতুল্য!
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (Ephesians 5:22)
৫. পুরুষ নয়, নারী প্রতারিত হয়েছিল।
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (1 Timothy 2:14)
৬. নারী এবং পুরুষ একে অপরের শত্রু।
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (Genesis 3:15)
৭. গর্ভধারণ এবং সন্তান প্রসব এক ধরণের শাস্তি।
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. (Genesis 3:16)

১০. পুরুষ হচ্ছে গডের ইমেজ এবং গৌরব, আর নারী হচ্ছে পুরুষের গৌরব।
For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. (1 Corinthians 11:7)
১১. পুরুষ শিশু জন্ম দিলে মা’কে সাত দিনের জন্য অপরিষ্কার থাকতে হবে, অন্যদিকে নারী শিশু জন্ম দিলে মা’কে পনের দিনের জন্য অপরিষ্কার থাকতে হবে।
If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days…but if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks. (Leviticus 12:2-5)
১২. চার্চের মধ্যে নারীদেরকে চুপচাপ থাকতে হবে। সেখানে কথা বলা তাদের জন্য লজ্জাজনক। চুপচাপ তাদের স্বামীদের কাছে থেকে সকল প্রকার বশীভূতকরণের মাধ্যমে শিক্ষা নিতে হবে। নারীরা শিক্ষা দিতে পারবে না এবং পুরুষদের উপর কর্তৃত্ব করার অধিকারও তাদেরকে দেওয়া হয়নি।
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (1 Timothy 2:11-12)
১৩. পরিবারে পুত্র সন্তান থাকলে কন্যা সন্তান কোনো সম্পত্তি পাবে না।
If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter. (Numbers 27:8)
১৪. বাবা-মা কিংবা পাদ্রীকে অসম্মান করলে তাকে অবশ্যই আগুনে পুড়িয়ে হত্যা করতে হবে – যাকে বলে অনার কিলিং।
And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire. (Leviticus 21:9)
For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.' (Matthew 15:4)
And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. (Genesis 38:24)
১৫. নারী হচ্ছে ফাঁদ, তার হৃদয়ও ফাঁদ, এবং তার হাত হচ্ছে শিকল। যে পুরুষ তার গডকে সন্তুষ্ট করে সে নারীকে এড়িয়ে চলবে, কিন্তু নারী চেষ্টা করবে পাপী পুরুষকে ফাঁদে ফেলতে। যেখানে প্রতি হাজার পুরুষের মধ্যে একজন ন্যায়বান পুরুষ খুঁজে পাওয়া সম্ভব সেখানে প্রতি হাজার নারীর মধ্যে একজন ন্যায়বান নারীও খুঁজে পাওয়া যাবে না।
And I find more bitter than death the woman who is a snare, whose heart is a trap and whose hands are chains. The man who pleases God will escape her, but the sinner she will ensnare….while I was still searching but not finding, I found one upright man among a thousand but not one upright woman among them all. (Ecclesiastics 7:26-28)
১৬. পুরুষ যদি পশুর সাথে সেক্স করে তাহলে সেই পুরুষ এবং পশুকে অবশ্যই হত্যা করতে হবে। অন্যদিকে নারী যদি পশুর সাথে সেক্স করার জন্য কেবল অগ্রসর হয় তাহলে সেই নারী এবং পশুকে অবশ্যই হত্যা করতে হবে।
If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal. If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (Leviticus 20:15-16)
১৭. মাসিক ঋতুস্রাবকালীন সময়ে নারীরা অস্পৃশ্য থাকে।
And if a woman have an issue (her period/menses), [and] her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. And if it [be] on [her] bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even. And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean. And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she [shall be] unclean. Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation. And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean. And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one [for] a sin offering, and the other [for] a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness. (Leviticus 15:19-30)
Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness. (Leviticus 18:19)
১৮. পুরুষ যদি তার স্ত্রীর মধ্যে কিছু অশুচিতা খুঁজে পায় তাহলে স্ত্রীর হাতে তালাক পত্র ধরিয়ে দিয়ে তাকে বাড়ি থেকে বের করে দিতে হবে।
When a man has taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes, because he has found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorce, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. (Deuteronomy 24:1)
১৯. কুমারীদেরকে নিজেদের জন্য রেখে শিশু-সহ সবাইকে হত্যা করতে হবে।
They fought against Midian; as the LORD commanded Moses, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. (Numbers 31:17-18)
২০. স্ত্রী যদি স্বামীকে কারো আক্রমণের হাত থেকে রক্ষার জন্য সাহায্য করতে যেয়ে স্ত্রীর হাত কোনো ভাবে আক্রমণকারীর গোপন অঙ্গে লেগে যায় তাহলে সেই স্ত্রীর প্রতি কোনো দরদ না দেখিয়ে তার হাত কেটে ফেলতে হবে।
If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity. (Deuteronomy 25:11-12)
২১. ধর্ষক অবশ্যই ধর্ষিতাকে বিয়ে করবে এবং কখনো তালাক দিতে পারবে না।
If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. (Deuteronomy 22:28-29)
২২. বিয়ের সময় যদি কোনো নারীর মধ্যে কুমারিত্বের চিহ্ন না পাওয়া যায় তাহলে সেই নারীকে তার পিতার বাড়ির সামনে সকলে মিলে পাথর মেরে হত্যা করতে হবে।
But if the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21)
২৩. ব্যভিচারের জন্য নারী-পুরুষ উভয়কে পাথর মেরে হত্যা করতে হবে।
If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel. If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her. Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 22:22-24)
If there is a girl who is a virgin engaged to a man, and another man finds her in the city and lies with her, then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city and you shall stone them to death; the girl, because she did not cry out in the city, and the man, because he has violated his neighbor's wife. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 22:24)
২৪. পুরুষের জন্য নারীকে স্পর্শ না করাই ভালো।
Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. (1 Corinthians 7:1)
২৫. স্বর্গের রাজ্যে কুমারী থাকবে।
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. (Matthew 25:1)
২৬. তালাকপ্রাপ্তা নারীকে বিয়ে করা ব্যভিচারের সামিল – অর্থাৎ তালাকপ্রাপ্তা নারী পুনরায় বিয়ে করতে পারবে না।
But I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. (Matthew 5:32)
And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. (Mark 10:11-12)
২৭. কোনো পুরুষ যদি নারীর দিকে কামুক দৃষ্টিতে তাকায় তাহলে সেই নারীর সাথে হৃদয়ের মধ্যে ব্যভিচার করা হয়।
You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Matthew 5:27-28)
২৮. ডাইনীকে অবশ্যই হত্যা করতে হবে।
Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death. He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed. (Exodus 22:18-20)
২৯. গডের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করার জন্য নারী ও শিশুকে হত্যা করতে হবে।
Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. (Hosea 13:16)
৩০. বাবা, মা, স্ত্রী, সন্তান, ভাই, বোন, ও নিজেকে ঘৃণা না করলে যীশুর অনুসারী হওয়া যাবে না।
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26)
৩১. নারীদেরকে কঠোর ড্রেসকোড মেনে চলতে হবে।
I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes. (1 Timothy 2:9)
A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. (Deuteronomy 22:5)
৩২. নারীরা মাথা খালি রেখে প্রার্থনা করতে পারবে না। কেউ এমন করলে তার মাথাকে অসম্মান করা হবে, যা নেড়া মাথার সমতুল্য।
But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head – it is the same as having her head shaved. For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head. (1 Corinthians 11:5-6)
Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God (with her head) uncovered? (1 Corinthians 11:13)
৩৩. সমকামী নারী-পুরুষকে অবশ্যই হত্যা করতে হবে।
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (Leviticus 20:13)
৩৪. নারী-পুরুষ-শিশু নির্বিশেষে যারা ইসরাইলের গডের অনুসন্ধান করে না তাদেরকে হত্যা করতে হবে।
That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:13)
৩৫. নারী শিশুর জন্ম মানে ক্ষতি।
…. the birth of any daughter is a loss. (Eccles. 22:3)
৩৬. দাস-দাসীরা তাদের প্রভুদের প্রতি ভয়ে আত্মসমর্পণ করবে, এমনকি প্রভুরা দুর্ব্যবহার করলেও!
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. (1 Peter 2:18)
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5)
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2)
৩৭. দাস-দাসী যদি কাজ করতে অস্বীকৃতি জানায় তাহলে তাদেরকে কঠোরভাবে শাস্তি দিতে হবে।
The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given. (Luke 12:47-48)
৩৮. কোনো পুরুষ যদি তার দাস-দাসীকে রড দিয়ে এমনভাবে আঘাত করে যাতে দাস-দাসী সাথে সাথে মারা যায় তাহলে সেই পুরুষের শাস্তি হবে। কিন্তু দাস-দাসী যদি দু-এক দিনের জন্য জীবিত থাকে তাহলে সেই পুরুষের কোনো শাস্তি হবে না, যেহেতু দাস-দাসী তার নিজস্ব সম্পত্তি।
When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21)

এই হচ্ছে এক নজরে বাইবেলে নারী ও দাস-দাসীদের অবস্থা। এ ছাড়াও আরো ভার্স আছে। কথায় কথায় আগুনে পুড়িয়ে হত্যা, পাথর মেরে হত্যা, ও নির্যাতন লক্ষণীয়। এমনকি কোরআনকে সিন্ধুকে রেখে দিয়ে শুধু হাদিসের সাথেও যদি বাইবেলের তুলনা করা হয় সেক্ষেত্রেও কিন্তু মিশন্যারিদেরকে লজ্জায় বালিশের মধ্যে মাথা গুঁজতে হবে। অথচ তারাই আবার উল্টোদিকে ইসলামে নারীদের মর্যাদা ও অধিকার নিয়ে সবচেয়ে বেশি অপপ্রচার চালায়। নিজেদের ধর্মের বর্বরতা, অমানবিকতা, আর অসারতাকে ধামাচাপা দেওয়ার উদ্দেশ্যে ‘আগ বাড়িয়ে’ এই কাজটি করা হয়।
কোরআন কেন হাদিসেও নিরপরাধ নারীকে হত্যা তো দূরে থাক এমনকি কোনো রকম শাস্তির কথাও লিখা নেই। এমনকি হাজার হাজার হাদিসের মধ্যে মাত্র গোটা কয়েক হাদিস আছে যেগুলো পড়লে মনে হবে যেন নারীদেরকে হেয় করা হয়েছে, তবে সেই হাদিসগুলোতেও নিরপরাধ নারীদের জন্য কোনো শাস্তির বিধান নেই। অথচ এ ছাড়াও যে ডজন ডজন হাদিস আছে, যেখানে নারীদেরকে অত্যন্ত উঁচু আসন ও মর্যাদা দেওয়া হয়েছে সেগুলোকে বেমালুম চেপে যাওয়া হয়। কাজেই মুসলিমরা কোরআনে বিশ্বাস করেই অন্যান্য ধর্মের সমালোচনা করার মতো নৈতিক ও যৌক্তিক অধিকার রাখে।
পশ্চিমা বিশ্বের নারীরা তাদের তথাকথিত ফ্রীডম এর বুকে পদাঘাত করে ইসলামের দিকে কেন ঝুঁকছেন তার যৌক্তিক কারণ ইতোমধ্যে নিশ্চয় পরিষ্কার। সেই সাথে বিশেষ কিছু ধর্মীয় গ্রুপ বিভিন্ন প্রতারণা ও কলাকৌশলের আশ্রয় নিয়ে মুসলিম নারীদের ‘পরিত্রাতা’ সেজে ইসলাম ও মুসলিম ওয়াচ শুরু করেছে কেন, তার পেছনের কারণও পরিষ্কার হওয়ার কথা।
