Human is a social organisms. People have to live socially. At the end of a day's business or job or in search of livelihood, people return home to live peacefully with their families. But in this modern competitive age, the needs and requirements of people have increased at a great rate and we cannot fulfil all our needs at home. Thus, we are forced to live in messes or hostels away from our families. It is known to all that we cannot enjoy all the facilities like a family in a mess or hostel. Life in the mess or hostel is completely free from parental love and guidance. Residents have to rely on self-service, which sometimes turns out to be a blessing. In hostel life, a student learns to be fit for practical life and becomes an expert. As a student has to manage everything himself. This is how a person learns how to deal with the realities of life. In hostel life, he gets complete freedom, which can often lead to destruction. One can easily go astray if not aware of time and duties. We receive family support and guidance in a family. But sometimes we have to fulfil some responsibilities towards our family. Many times a student may not make optimal use of time. But in hostel life, a student gets enough time for reading and writing. In hostel life, a student can easily take help from other students, which is not available in family life. In a family, parents try to raise their children according to their wishes and ideals. Desperate students need full family control and guidance. Family is the best place for them. A careful and conscious person can easily stay in a hostel. Both family and dormitories are required in indifferent situations, despite some qualifications.
মানুষ একটি সামাজিক জীব। মানুষকে সমাজবদ্ধভাবে জীবন যাপন করতে হয়। সারাদিনের ব্যবসা বা চাকুরি বা জীবিকা অন্বেষন শেষে, মানুষ তাদের পরিবার নিয়ে শান্তিতে বসবাস করতে বাড়িতে ফিরে আসে। কিন্তু এই আধুনিক প্রতিযোগিতামূলক যুগে মানুষের চাহিদা এবং প্রয়োজনীয়তা ব্যাপক হারে বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে এবং আমরা ঘরে বসে আমাদের সমস্ত চাহিদা পূরণ করতে পারি না। এইভাবে, আমরা আমাদের পরিবার থেকে দূরে মেসে বা হোস্টেলে থাকতে বাধ্য হচ্ছি।
এটা সবার জানা যে, মেস বা হোস্টেলে আমরা পরিবারের মত সব সুযোগ-সুবিধা ভোগ করতে পারি না। মেস বা হোস্টেলের জীবন হল, পিতামাতার ভালবাসা এবং নির্দেশনা থেকে সম্পূর্ণ মুক্ত। বাসিন্দাদের স্ব-পরিষেবার উপর নির্ভর করতে হয়, যা কখনও কখনও আশীর্বাদ হয়ে ওঠে। হোস্টেল জীবনে, একজন ছাত্র ব্যবহারিক জীবনের জন্য উপযুক্ত হতে শেখে এবং একজন বিশেষজ্ঞ হয়ে ওঠে। যেহেতু একজন ছাত্রকে নিজেকেই সবকিছু পরিচালনা করতে হয় । এভাবেই ব্যক্তি জীবনের বাস্তবতাকে কীভাবে মোকাবেলা করতে হয় তা শিখে। হোস্টেল জীবনে, সে সম্পূর্ণ স্বাধীনতা পায়, যা প্রায়শই ধ্বংসের দিকে নিয়ে যেতে পারে।
সময় ও কর্তব্য সম্পর্কে সচেতন না হলে সহজেই বিপথে যেতে পারে। আমরা একটি পরিবারে পারিবারিক সমর্থন এবং নির্দেশনা পাই। তবে মাঝে মাঝে আমাদের পরিবারের প্রতি কিছু দায়িত্ব পালন করতে হয়। অনেক সময় একজন শিক্ষার্থী সময়ের সর্বোত্তম ব্যবহার করতে পারে না। কিন্তু হোস্টেল জীবনে একজন ছাত্র পড়া লেখার জন্য যথেষ্ট সময় পায়। হোস্টেল জীবনে একজন ছাত্র সহজেই অন্য ছাত্রদের সাহায্য নিতে পারে, যা পারিবারিক জীবনে পাওয়া যায় না। একটি পরিবারে, পিতামাতা তাদের ইচ্ছা এবং আদর্শ অনুযায়ী তাদের সন্তানদের বড় করার চেষ্টা করেন। মরিয়া ছাত্রদের সম্পূর্ণ পারিবারিক নিয়ন্ত্রণ এবং নির্দেশনা প্রয়োজন। পরিবার তাদের জন্য সেরা জায়গা। একজন সতর্ক ও সচেতন ব্যক্তি সহজেই হোস্টেলে থাকতে পারেন। কিছু যোগ্যতা থাকা সত্ত্বেও উদাসীন পরিস্থিতিতে উভয় পরিবার এবং ছাত্রাবাস প্রয়োজন।
