Dhaka University Admission: MCQ with Written Test

Last year, Dhaka University (DU) introduced new norms in the admission test which included a written section with multiple choice questions (MCQ). This decision was taken in the Dean's Committee meeting of the university on July 3. The DU committee took a policy decision to implement the new system in the admission test from the academic year 2021-2022.In the new system, candidates will have to participate in the MCQ of 60 marks and written examination of 40 marks. Students will get 45 minutes for the written exam and 45 minutes for the MCQ exam. The written examination will have space for students to answer the question paper.

In the meeting, it was decided to conduct MCQ of 60 marks and written test of 40 marks in admission test of 'A', 'B', 'C' and 'D' units. It has been decided to conduct MCQ of 40 marks and written test of 60 marks only in 'F' unit examination. 45 minutes for MCQ examination and 45 minutes for written examination of units 'A', 'B', 'C' and 'D' are allotted. Time allotted for Unit 'F' MCQ exam is 30 minutes and written exam is 45 minutes.

Necessary conditions for honours admission of Dhaka University

In the case of application for admission to Dhaka University, the students of science department must have a minimum GPA of 8 in secondary, higher secondary and equivalent examinations including the fourth subject. However, GPA should be 3.5 in secondary and higher secondary separately. Similarly, students of humanities and business education department should have GPA of 7.5 and 3 respectively.

KA Unit

Candidates must have total GPA 8.50 (with 4th subject) in SSC and HSC level exams.

KHA Unit

Candidates must have total GPA 8.00 (with 4th subject) in SSC and HSC level exams.

GA Unit

Candidates must have total GPA 8.00 (with 4th subject) in SSC and HSC level exams.

GHA Unit

Candidates must have total GPA Own Unit GPA in SSC and HSC level exams.

Cha Unit

Candidates must have total GPA 7.00 (with 4th subject) in SSC and HSC level exams.



A Unit Notice & Prospectus 2022

Exam topics: Only students of Science can apply in this unit. And exam subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Math / Biology, Fourth subject / Bengali / English These 4. There will be a total of 30 questions – 120 questions from each subject.

Exam Mark Details:
Total mark 200
Admission Test – 120
(HSC GPA x 10) + (SSC GPA x 6) = 80

N.B: The admission test will have 120 MCQ questions, each of which is the value of 1. That is, 120 marks will be held and the total time is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

B Unit Notice & Prospectus 2021

Exam topics:  In this B unit, only the Humanities students will be able to apply. And the subjects of examinations – Bengali, English and general knowledge are three.

1.   Bengali = 30

2.   English = 30

3.   General Knowledge (Bangladesh and International Affairs) = 60

4.   Total = 100

Exam Mark Details:
Total mark 200
Admission Test – 120
(HSC GPA x 10) + (SSC GPA x 6) = 80

·         In the admission test, there will be 100 MCQ queries, each question values carry on 1.2 marks. That is, 120 marks will be held and the total time is 1 hour.

·         Each question will be deducted 0.30 from the number received for the wrong answer and the total pass mark 48. and every one have to pass individuals subject like Fro Bangla – 8 marks, English -8 marks and General Knowledge – 17 marks.

C Unit Notice & Prospectus 2021

This C unit is for students of Business Studies. In the admission test, there will be a total of 100 questions in 120 numbers. And 1 hour will be scheduled for the exam.

Distribution of Marks for C unit:

·         Bengla-30

·         English -30

·         Accounting-30

·         Management – 30

·         Total -120

The number will be cut for the wrong answer in the admission test.

A correct answer number will be deducted for every 5 wrong answers. That means, for every wrong answer, 0.24 will be deducted from obtained marks. This number will deduct subject wise.


 

D Unit Notice & Prospectus 2021

Merit list will be prepared on the basis of total 200 marks. 80 marks based on SSC and HSC GPA. These marks are calculated by multiplying SSC GPA (with optional) by 6 and HSC GPA (with optional) by 10.

•       The remaining 120 marks will be held in the MCQ system.

•       For the MCQ examinations of 120 marks, a total of 100 questions will be answered and the time will be given 1 hour.

•       The value of each question is 1.2.

•       For every wrong answer 0.30 number will be cut.

Three subjects should be examined:

Bengali: 30 Marks

English: 30 Marks

General Knowledge (Bangladesh Affairs + International Affairs): 60 Marks

To pass the admission test, you will get minimum 8 marks each subject with total 48 marks.

✍️ After clicking on the 'Apply/Login' button, enter 'Roll' on the 'Apply/Login' page by providing the applicant's Higher Secondary/Equivalent Roll Number, Examination Roll Number, Board Name and Secondary or Equivalent Examination Roll Number. Click on the button and on the next page click on 'Confirm' button with the details of the applicant's Secondary and Secondary Examination and if the applicant is eligible to apply in all units.

But this notification was published on 23rd June (Thursday) 2022 through a press release of Public Relations Department of Dhaka University.
